When it comes to neck pups I had generally used 59's. For Set neck / Mahogany instrument I have decided the PG is a better choice. Cleaner bass for chording and a noice throaty lead tone. I'm sticking with 59's for bolt-ons though. They seem to benefit from the extra bottom.

They are also proving to be a nice compliment to the '59 and S-Deco2 I hae in those instruments.

I agree in the PG for a mahogany set neck. I had a Jazz in my Schecter and just swapped it for a PGn, and I like it much much better.

Re: Changed my mind

i love a pgn, the bass isnt overly tubby and has a nice character to it, lead tones are warm with enough highend to cut thru and speak clearly and the tone is just wonderful

Re: Changed my mind

I love my 59n but sometimes I wish it had a tad less bass, Jazz model?
