Changing cover on Fender Vintage Noiseless?

Wondering if anyone has either removed the logo from a set of Fender Vintage Noiseless pups or successfully change the covers? Is it possible? I'm not a fan of logos on pups, I need to put them on a custom shop strat that is relic'd, want to keep the vintage looking vibe.

Re: Changing cover on Fender Vintage Noiseless?

I presume they're just normal covers like the Dimarzios on my Malmsteen. Covers are easily replaced (I didn't like the Dimarzio logo). But on stacked hum cancelling singles, the covers are usually double the size of normal pickup covers. So I'd try to call Dimarzio and get the larger covers.

The smaller covers fit, but the spring or rubber tubing holding the pickup in gets too compressed.

Take the pickguard off, remove one of the pickups, see if you can remove the cover. If you can, you're in business

I believe that they are specially sized. Acme sells replacement covers for them, but they also have the logo on them. You might be able to find other covers that fit, but be careful.

Steel wool. Rub the logo off. Then buff the plastic back to a shine with some king of buffing compound. Or just leave a matte finish on them.

DON'T use steel wool. The little particles of steel wool will get attracted all over the pole pieces and one two could even find there way in to places, like the WINDINGS, that could cause issues.

Use a scotchbrite pad. I've even heard of people using toothpaste on a soft cloth to take logos off. Leaves your pickup nice and fresh. :D

Whatever you use to remove the logo, even if it's minty fresh, make sure the cover is removed from the pickup before doing anything to it.
