You just have to loosen the coils from the plate. Heat it with a blow dryer, unscrew the little screws that hold the bobbins in place, and use a screwdriver to push the magnet out; I usually orient the replacement magnet at that point using the one that's still partially in the pickup, and then slide it in, pushing the original the rest of the way out. I might be forgetting a couple steps, but I don't think so.

You need a small magnet to determine the polarity/direction of the magnets. I use one of those little screwdrivers that have a small magnet molded into the tip. Anything that's magnetic (but weak enough not to affect the main mag) can be used.
Before disassembly, use this magnet to determine which bobbin it's attracted to, the slug or screw polepieces, and make sure when you install the new magnet, this attraction is the same.
