Hi there all, after reading many reviews and fora articles i've decided to buy a set of jb/jazz 7 string pups for my ibanez rg 1527. Now there's still on trouble on my mind. The pole pieces or screw lenght from a duncan humbucker is to long to fit in the pickup cavity. This leaves me with 3 options.
1 route the pickup cavity, actually don't feel much for that...
2 clipp of the pole pieces, i've read this is standard operation to fit a duncan in a ibanez
3 screw in some shorter screws, i've read somewhere in the q&a that that is possible, looks to me like the easiest and cleanest solution...
Will, and if yes: how?, it alter the sound of the humbucker? And can i really just buy some new screws and put them in the pup?
cheers, Lennart
