Re: Changing pups on a 335 style guitar.
There really isn't a "simple" way to do it. The only way I know of, is to pull the electronics out through the f-holes. Solder up what ya need and then stuff it all back in. Its not really "simple", but thats pretty much the way ya gotta do it.
The up side is, If all your gonna do is replace the Pickups, and Not replace any pots, or anything. Then all you really need to pull out through the f-hole is the toggle switch. Which is Much easyer to get back into place than everything else.
Pretty much what you'de do to replace the Pickups is....
(after removing strings)
1. Remove the old pickups from they're mounting rings
2. Unscrew the nut holding the toggle switch in place, Then Slide it down inside the body, and Up and Out through the F-hole.
3. Un-solder the Old Connections from the Pickups your removeing.
4. Put new pickups into place and Slide they're hookup cables into the hole that leads to the body cavity.
5. Pull the new pickups hookup cable Out through the f-holes, and solder them Into the same spots you just unsoldered the old pickups from.
6. stick toggle switch back into f-hole, and stuff it back up into its hole in the top of the guitar. Reconnect its nut.
7. put new pickus in mounting rings, and attach to body.
8. Restring and test it out.
Its not "simple" But its Not really too hard either. Just a bit more difficult than a sg, or whatever. And more time consumeing. But Not to hard.
as For how antiquitys would sound, I dunno. I've never tried them. But I've only heard good things about them, so yeah.
If my instruction made no sense at all (Which they might not). I'm sorry. Haha, I'm very tired, and I suck at giveing directions. Haha.
