ChAoZ - Hitman

Re: ChAoZ - Hitman

I never thought of putting the nail down through a fret slot before, I always struggle and hammer one into the neck, nip it off, align it and push it down. But i imagine this method would be safer and easier. And you can remove it after the fact.

Why is the nail so big though? haha

Humbucker routes done ,I have some active pickups from a big USA manufacturer to go in it - does Seymour Duncan sponsor builders as well as players?

Great carving, great work on the tuner holes (wider on the bottom and evenly spaced), great epoxy gluing for the frets.

I like the body a lot, but I love the headstock. This is how guitars shuld be made; original.

I wish I was as cool as you! Love the logo btw!

Looks like an awesome guitar, can't wait to see the finished product! :headbang:

Re: ChAoZ - Hitman

Got the last few frets in , cleaned up the heel to body transition, routed the neck tenon where it extends into the pickup cavity

I'm humbled by your praise - it makes the many hours invested all worthwhile

I'm also sure you will avenge your country on Thursday at the Gabba :)

Stained the whole lot with black wood dye

Rubbed in a coat of oil with the rag I used to apply the dye

Re: ChAoZ - Hitman

This just keeps getting better each stage. A really nice surprise the "All Black" finish,
will we see a "Silver Fern" on there somewhere? Maybe on the headstock or truss rod cover?
