On Par with USA guitars, including the Jacksons of the period

IMO 3-400 dollars, but people seem to be catching on to these, and prices seem to be rising accordingly...

I have No qualms with either the Kahler Flatmount or the JT-6 FLoyd, I use both to this day.

Midboost usable?
Very

THe Pickups are passives, but the J-200 stacked Singles are wound specifically "around" the boards, and IMO sound like crap w/o the electronics. But the pickups can all be switched with any passive pu, though modification of the baseplates will be necessary for many single coils ;)

www.jcfonline.com , but READ the rules when you sign up, or you´ll quickly be banned for doing something that seems innocent enough to you, but has been a constant nuisance to the JCF for years ;)

Re: Charvel Model 4

One of the better bolt on superstrats of the mid 80s, AFAIC. IMO a better product than your average Kramer or later 80s Ibanezes, etc.

I liked mine, but being a Gibson-type guy I sold it. It was well built, solid. Heavy as I recall. The Jackson trem was pretty good. Good player. I did not care for the indivdual pup selectors (on/off for each pup) and I did not like the pups themselves, but many Charvel/Jackson fans do.

As long as you get a decent piece of wood, you really cannot go wrong with any of the old Charvels.

I have no idea about pricing these days, but there is a Jackson Charvel forum. I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable guys will pop in with the web addy.

Re: Charvel Model 4

Thanks for the input. Zerb, have you not rcd my PMs?

I am registering at the forum. Any particular rule that really causes them headache? I normally always try to behave..

I would probably only change the bridge pup if the singles are good.
I scored one that is orig owner, case kept for the last 10 yrs and supposed to be flawless aside from some minor scuffing on the back, with HSC for $332 shipped.

Re: Charvel Model 4

I have one. I could not be happier with any other guitar. Versatile, great sounding and I LOVE this neck. Charvel really got these right. The hardware is more than decent too.
