These make more sense for a restoration project than to 'upsell' a partscaster. The '80s USA plates have 4-digit serial numbers and a San Dimas or Ontario, CA address. Anyone reasonably knowledgeable about vintage Charvels knows that 6-digits & Ft. Worth = MIJ. The MIJ Model series have seen a major increase in value over the last decade, but they're not significantly more expensive than a partscaster made with premium parts.
If you're a scammer, this makes a lot more sense IMO. An 80s plate would (seemingly) increase the value far beyond what even a USA Pro Mod goes for, though this plate is $3 bill fake. The logo looks decent and the address is correct, but the relief looks a bit shallow and the font is totally wrong.

I appreciate all the back and forth here, but I’m not a scammer. I’ve had this plate for many years with the intention of putting together a Model 1. Things change and I don’t have that need anymore. I’m just trying to help someone else who may be looking to complete a guitar. Nothing more, nothing less.
