Charvel Pickups

My Jacksons have un-named pups, but they are definitely ceramic and pretty obviously modeled on the Duncan Distortion. I like'em!

I say go with the 59/Custom Hybrid. Sounds like what you want. Closer to the Super D without going over, good eq match for the 59.

Don't think there's any production Duncan that's close enough to the Super Distortion.
Yeah - SuperD is its own creature. The closest thing to it to me, would be a voltage starved Invader. And it still wouldn't be in the ballpark.

Well after much internal debate on what exactly I want this axe for.
I decided to order a WLH for the bridge instead of something nasty.
I ordered from Musicians Freind just to make sure it was from an authorized dealer or whatever/ legit.
I figure I got the neckthru O'Hagan with vintage Super D when i wanna get my 80s hardrock/ metal on.

Well while I wait for the WLH bridge to get here. I decided to tidy up and rewire the harness.
I Removed the whole harness unwired all the cheap wire. Cleaned the pots bare of solder( heat um up and wack the solder off um)and rewired with push back wire and orange drops I scavenged outta my parts. Wired for 50s tone circuits.(The red lead is the current bridge pup)
I gotta say with the 50s tone and a couple more minor screwdriver tweaks the neck 59' is fantastic. I played on the neck for 2hrs straight.
Funny the factory pots are linear taper for volumes and audio for tones....but I kinda like it this way.

So its in. Got about 40min in on the WLH. Initial impression is....Im Impressed.
Open and clear like a paf with a huge lowend I thought could only come from a super hot pup. With a detailed mid attack/snap on leads...much like Pages leads.
