Cheap, Excellent TS808...

Heyas... For the last, oh, six years at least, I've had a TS7 laying around here that I bought in a fit of dumbness. This turned out to have been an ok decision, though, since I ordered a mod kit from some dude on ebay - it's now got the 808 opamp and a few new resistors and caps, and whoa! Suddenly my most hated pedal has become amazing!

Anyways, I'm gonna borrow a friend's TS9 tomorrow for some ABing, but I gotta say, if you're at all used to a soldering iron, for the cost of a TS7 and the mod kit, you really cannot go wrong.

Cool - I'm building a TS-808 for someone at the moment with the JRC4558D opamp, can't wait to hear how that sounds as I've never played a tubescreamer.

I've been thinking about just picking up Behringer's Vintage Tube Overdrive. I guess there's only like one resistor difference in the circuit. Its parts are probably cheap/plastic as hell, but it takes me forever to build ****.
