This is a Bandmaster Reverb. 40 watts. It's basically a Pro Reverb Amp or Vibrolux Reverb Amp in a head.

These are nice amps! IMO, they have a ballsier tone than the unmodified Bassman heads you guys mention alot here, and a little less clean headroom. The Bassman has a slightly bigger output transformer.

If you look at the excellant photos this guy included in the auction, you can see the inside of the chassis.

These are the reddish brown capacitors I've mentioned that I usually replace with Sprague Orange Drops or Mallory 150 caps. But they sound just fine as is.

Anyways, if any of you are looking for a nice Fender amp, this one has reverb and looks to be all original and in excellant condition.

Puts out about 40 watts into a 4 ohm speaker load. Two 8 ohm speakers in parallel = 4 ohms total.

Very cool amp gentlemen. If anybody's looking for the old school Fender tone, this would be a wise choice.

This one is a Bandmaster without reverb. The reverb circuit in a Fender amp adds gain as well as reverb. Fender amps with reverb, even when the reverb is turned to zero, have a ballsier stronger tone with better overdrive characteristics than the non-reverb version of the same amp.
that's good ... it helps explain things, because I thought some complained about the Bandmasters being a little wimpy.
Of course, most good techs know how to solve that!

This is the amp model that Albert Collins used to use. These are loud! Basically a Twin Reverb with four 12's instead of two. To loud for me...but Albert sounded fabulous through his. His had four JBL 12's. This one in this auction has four of the worst speakers I think Fender ever used: UTAHS! If you see that label, don't pay extra just because they are the original speakers, because they sound like crap, IMO.

Re: Check out this Fender amp....

Yikes!

as if a Twin wasn't heavy enough! :(
better get a dolly for this one! :)

You know, I might just have to pick this up. It's my birthday Monday, and I've never owned a decent, vintage Fender tube amp (sad, I know). What do you think would be a fair price for this?

'58 tweed Deluxe. Curly has one of these I think. I have two of these. I'll often play a pair of thee in stereo using a Boss Stereo Reverb pedal to split the signal. Doesn't get much better!
that thing's pretty darn good shape!
the caps appear original

the tube chart is a little peculiar, as one person pointed out, but not beyond Fender's frugal reputation for using everything, and wasting nothing

I expect this to go for well over the current price, though, as Deluxes are one of the more sought after amps.
Mine's a '56, BTW, and later ones like this probably have a bit more output.

A bona fide tone machine.
