Hey Reggie, at these prices and specs,
even us guitarists can rumble!

I already use tc electronic heads and cabs. Fans of their BG250 combo may be annoyed to discover the latest range of ultra portable bass combos.

P. S. - No. I am not an endorsee. (I wish!)

I've fiddled with those TC combos and I have to say I'm really impressed.

Great info! Is there one brand/model that seems to sound above (and weigh below) them all?
Thanks!

Most of these cheap 15" combos have really bad pots for starters. Just try a used one somewhere, scratcho sratcho scratcho. I don't want to know what the cooling looks like, or the capacitors for that matter. The TC also has this funny computer driven thing that you cannot "program", as in you can't change any parameters.

I use a 12" Hartke. They can be had very cheap because they look funny but they use quality components and the 12" half-alu speaker can reach as low as trashy 15"ers for useful volumes.

The effect thingy is called TonePrint; you download effect presets (from TC endorsees) over the net, or from an app.

I've played through both the Guild and Samson-era Hartke cabs; I prefer the full metal 10" cones from the original Guild models. They're more punchy and crisp to my ears.
