Can anybody tell me (or show me a website) the chords within the harmonized scale of each of the 7 modes?

If you show me using Maj7-Min7-Min7-Maj7-Maj7-Min7-Dim7 context I will understand it, and its quicker to write than writing out the letter names for each key. :)

Thanks. JC

Re: Chords of harmonized scales/modes.

First off, remember that in the major scale, the V chord is a dom7 rather than Maj7. Also note that the VII chord is a 'half diminished', or min7b5 chord.

That being said, you just re-write your list at a different starting point, based on what mode you want. For instance, the Dorian mode starts on the second note of the major scale, so you start with the second chord in your list, and eventually wrap around and put the original first chord as the VII chord:

Imin7-IImin7-IIIMaj7-IV7-Vmin7-VImin7b5-VIIMaj7

One thing that you'll notice is that in ALL of the modes, there's only one Dominant 7th chord. A lot of times, you might see a I7-IV7-V7 progression, instead of the IMaj7-IVMaj7-V7 progression. There's really no way to fit that into any single mode. In this instance, you're a lot better off picking the scale to fit the chord, rather than picking chords to fit any one scale. If I'm trying to solo of a I7-IV7-V7 progression in the key of A, I'll play A, D, and E Mixolydian scales over the chord changes.
