chorus/echo reccomendations?

Looking for Real Life
well, I went out & tried a line 6 delay modeler, and the echo effect just kinda blew me away. But a few things annoyed me, i had to reset the tempo everytime i turned it on, and it was pretty hard to hit it quick enough to get the effect i want, i really just want it for fattening, the reverb on my amp is set to just under 2, most people don't even know i use reverb untill i turn it off & the sound gets flatter.

so, is there any pedal with echo, or chorus & echo, that's NOT tap tempo & can be set to ridiculously low time & repeats?

Re: chorus/echo reccomendations?

this is possible with the line 6...you just have to save the preset for whatever tempo you want..just set it how you want it, hold the button down for 3 secs, and it is saved. The DL4 can get a good chorus too, using the modulation delay set to 0 ms, 0 delay and 100% wet signal.

Re: chorus/echo reccomendations?

boss dd's are digital delay, I'm looking for analog sounds

and they only go down to 800ms

Re: chorus/echo reccomendations?

Chorus:
Voodoo Lab Analog Chorus
Fulltone Choral Flange
Dano Cool Cat
Fulltone Dejavibe
Boss CE-2

Delay:
Boss DM-3
Dano Dan-Echo
Boss DD-3

Re: chorus/echo reccomendations?

how about the visual sound chorus echo, anyone have any expirience with it? seems pretty good, 800ms is its longest delay time, and it has a switch for long/short as well as the typical knobs, looks promissing, but, well, everything looks promissing, haha

Re: chorus/echo reccomendations?

the new Line6 Echo Park pedal...cheaper and smaller. No looper though. I have always thought that digital delays sounded better than the analog ones...I like to hear clear repeats, not something muddy-ing up the sound. Line6 can certainly sound as grungy as you want it too, and as clear as you want it.

mrid, do you have any expirience with it? I just wanna use it to fatten up my sound

and mincer, I'm not looking for clear endless repeats, I just want a tiny bit of chorus/analog delay for fattening purposes

Re: chorus/echo reccomendations?

Visual sound H2O. its a chorus and echo in one, the echo is perfect for subtle fattening, that what i generally use it for. the chorus is really lush and watery too. One of my favourite pedals.

Yep, I've got one. It's the best chorus I've tried, and I've owned several (NYC Small Clone, Boss CE-2, etc...).

You're confusing me. The L6 pedal is digital, too. Also, what do you mean by "they only go down to 800ms"? I'm pretty sure you can get a shorter delay on the non-looping Boss delays.

Re: chorus/echo reccomendations?

I just picked up a SIB Mr. Echo. It is digital, but has a very warm, analog feel. It preserves the sound of the guitar and is much quieter in operation than my old analog EH Memory Man. It only has upt to about a half sec. delay time, but that's enough for me. Since it preserves the guitar tone and is quiet, it does a good job of fattening up the tone. It's also true-bypass and very simple to use. The only downside is that it is noticeably noisier when used with my VS OneSpot AC adapter, and I'm not sure yet about the 9V battery life.

Another viable option for about twice the price is the Guyatone Flip Tube echo unit. I had one on order, but I haven't heard it. The folks at the shop thought I'd be happier with the SIB unit, and I generally trust their opinions on tone.

That Dan-Echo is actually fully digital but you'd never know it by listening to it... it sounds fully analog. I love mine... it was the first pedal I ever bought!

The Cool cat is a wonderful sounding chorus and the CE2 is simple and gooood. There are mods available for the CE2 as well.

Re: chorus/echo reccomendations?

Boss still makes the best chorus pedal, in my opinion, but by far the best sound I ever got as a chorus/echo unit was a Roland RE-501, which was an analog tape unit, that had chorus built in. I wish I hadn't sold that puppy....

Re: chorus/echo reccomendations?

well i wanted a roland chorus echo 301, but too expensive

so i think i'm gonna go with the visual sound one
