Chorus Pedal

Re: Chorus Pedal

I use a Boss Ce-2, I like it , it suits my needs plus 2 knobs...very easy to use.

i've seen a bunch of these come in used to the local guitar store but the staff grabs them before they go out on the sales floor... store staff grabs all the goodies before the rest of us get a chance...

Re: Chorus Pedal

When I'm in a Blackhole Sun kinda mood, I'll plug into my Voodoo Labs Analog Chorus.
Other times if I just want something a little shimmery and not in your face I'll use my old Boss CE-2.

Re: Chorus Pedal

I currently have a Belcat chorus its just ok, the absolute best chorus pedal I ever had was the old MXR ,the black one with a red and green LED it could be so subtle that you wouldnt even notice it was on until you turned it off...I use that to judge all choruses by now and everytime I use a chorus now I kick myself for selling the MXR

Re: Chorus Pedal

the Boss units I have tried never seemed 'deep' enough. currently i am using a DOD 'stereo turbo chorus' which has 2 units in one box- very deep!

Re: Chorus Pedal

i know Flangers and Chorus maybe different effects but i swear i love my Boss Flanger over most Chorus's most of the time

I snagged mine off of evil-bay. There are always a few floating around. Sometimes you can get lucky and get one for under $100.

Re: Chorus Pedal

My chorus is a vintage Ibanez BC9. You get two oscillators on one circuit, for deep, shimmery kinda stuff. Very 80s sounding. It sounds like a Boss CE2, but without the headroom issues. I had a Keeley-modded CE2, and all the charm was sucked out of it. The BC9 was recommended on HC as a replacement. And yeah, "if lost or stolen, I would replace it immediately".

The analogman clone was a little clearer, but it "ate" the fundamental tone in a way that I didn't like.

For a more subtle chorus, try the Maxon CS550, it gets a great leslie sound, but it can't do Police very convincingly.

Re: Chorus Pedal

Well I finally sorted out a replacement for the CE-5, got me a MXR stereo chorus off evil bay - boxed, brand new with power adapter for £65. It was a bargain and thought if I don't like it I can re-coupe my money easily.

But its not going anywhere, I'm very impressed with the versatility - great Police sounds and fantastic leslie.

Anyone care to share their MXR settings?

Re: Chorus Pedal

I have a CE-3 that doesn't work reliably.

I love the chorus in my AX2 and I'm expecting the same from my POD Pro that is on its way...

Re: Chorus Pedal

I have a Boss DC-3, CEB-3, Ibanez CF7, and Electro-Harmonix Small Clone. For my uses, I prefer the sound of the CEB-3 with my guitars and the Small Clone with my bass.

Re: Chorus Pedal

I have a small clone and a mxr reissue... have the reissue up for sale, and gave the small clone to my bass player... sounds great for bass and clean stuff but when I use it dirty, it makes it too wierd! I really want to use a good chorus sometime for de-tuned heavey stuff but I don't want the sound so big it falls apart. That is my problem I think, as I lose the tightness and bottom with most chorus pedals. I want to try the analog man chorus though.

Re: Chorus Pedal

I have a CE-2; I'm the opposite of JoeLap - I had a CE-3 for a while, but I like the -2 better.

I has a DC-3 that I never shoulda sold.... great chorus.
