Chrome-like Paint?

Re: Chrome-like Paint?

Tried all the over the counter ones, none work. They rub off, and if you clearcoat them, they turn gray.

Supposedly Alsa makes one, but you'd be looking at $40+ for it.

Re: Chrome-like Paint?

Alsa Corp's stuff looks really good on their website, but yeah to use one can of silver and one can of their clear that's designed to work with that paint runs you 80 bucks. I've never tried their products myself, though I plan to.

Re: Chrome-like Paint?

I say their display at SEMA....it's freakin' killer! I''m a kustom chrome and flake nut from the 60s...that stuff blew me away!

Re: Chrome-like Paint?

Yah I found out about the Alsa stuff too and I'm prob gon go with it. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

Re: Chrome-like Paint?

If it's good enough for butnut it's good enough for any of us dudes.

Word... I'd love to use that "Burning Ice" paint they have on my next project, or maybe something really wild like one of those bright greens.

Re: Chrome-like Paint?

If I used any of Alsa's kits it'd cost more than I paid for the guitar. :D

Re: Chrome-like Paint?

hehe, thanks bros...well ya can't chrome plate wood, so this is the way to go! The price truely reflects the quality of the products.

Have you used the chrome paint before? If so do you have pictures? Thanks.

No, I've shot just about most paints out there, but I did see and 'feel' some finished chrome painted stuff at their booth...smooth as a baby's butt and is the closest thing to chrome I've seen. The colored chrome was really kool too.
