Chromed metal pickguard question

I'm planning to install a set of new SD into a Strat with a chromed metal pickguard but before I do that just curious does metal pickguard be messing with the operation of the pickups? does the metal pickguards change the tone? will it kill the pickup in time(losing charges)?

I currently have some random stock PU installed on my strat and they sounds pretty bland. I know this sounds like a stupid question but I just want to make sure before i drop an expensive set of SD onto my strat.

You may end up with a brighter, punchier tone, but I don't think it will cause any harm to your pup.

Anything you do to a guitar will change its tone. In a lot of cases, it's negligible. Changing your pickguard shouldn't affect the pickups at all, other than what GuitarDoc just said.

Yup. it wouldn't have that distinctive Tele twang without it.
