classic 30 mods?

Re: classic 30 mods?

I might start by swapping all the tubes, this is what my order consists of right now:

"Low Output Normal clean channel & high gain Lead channel for Peavey C30, C50 & DB
Price: $81.00
Description: A matched quad of the JJ EL84's with a standard ECC83S for V1, a hand picked high gain ECC83S for V2 and a graded high gain, high current output ECC83S for V3. A sweet warm clean channel and a more aggressive lead channel with earlier breakup from the power tubes."

this seems like what I want, then maybe when the birthday comes around get a speaker

Re: classic 30 mods?

i never tried these but for my fender hotrod deluxe i once purchasef fender groove tubes which come in all ranges of 9-12: veryclean. 4-7. easier to breakup, then 1-3 super easy to breakup- not pricy, got em at gtr ctr

when i brought my tubeking pedal to a store, to test a gtr, i got to crank the master tubes on a classic30- MAN, that is a tasty, punchycrunchy delight! but generally speaking distortion channels alone on combos are to my tastes often unusable... pedal w real tube might be better with the output volume ROCKiN the Clean channel.
