What humbucker will go Cool Rails neck and Vintage in the mid? Have a HSS fender srat. Will be playing classic rock. Thanks.

Re: Classic rock bucker?

My bet is that most people will say a Custom flavor of the month.

Re: Classic rock bucker?

59, Alnico II Pro, one of the Customs, Seth Lover, Pearly Gates, 59/Custom Hybrid.

Personally, I'd go with the Hybrid. All the others are great pups, but the Hybrid is my fave. Not sure how to describe the tone, but there are others here that should be able to do just that.

If that were my guitar, I'd go with the Pearly Gates. It should be a great match.

Another thought crossed my mind and I'm surprised nobody has mentioned it yet. The P-Rails would make that guitar very versatile. The humbucking mode might be be a little hot (how hot are you willing to go?), but you get the added benefit of a P-90 and a stratty sounding single coil.

Oh man-that's a great suggestion. I can't believe it's been so long since anybody brought those up. I had a set and just loved them. I ought to ditch the pups out of something else and get another set.

PEARLY GATES!!!

Not saying it again. And since it is a Strat - make it a PG+

.

Re: Classic rock bucker?

Thanks for all the replies. Let me add that the body is alder, of course, and the fret board is rosewood. That may change some suggestions. Thanks again.

Re: Classic rock bucker?

classic rock is a pretty wide genre, can you name a few of the bands?
