Thanks a lot. :)

I guess you are right about the classic rock thing.
I started the track out making a very simple, major chords only Stones-like backing so I guess that's where the "classic rock" label come from.
But then again...if it's not classic rock...

what is is then? :boggled:

:laugh2:

That was killer! I'd rather listen to chops like this, than that "commercial" crap all day long.

Now if you'll excuse me . . . I gotta go practice some more. :laugh2:

btw - whats that black guitar at the bottom of the page? It has a basic Tele shape, but I can't read the name. Looks sharp.

Thanks Artie, your words are my fuel. :)

I'm glad you asked about that guitar. It's an Italian handamade electric guitar called the "JDD" and it's made by Italy's prime luthiers JACARANDA

It's specs are:

chambered mahagony body and flame maple top
birdseye maple bolt on neck with an ebony fingerboard
pearl block inlays
graphtec saddles and nut
shaller tuneomatic bridge
sperzel locking tuners
Rio Grande BBQ/Geniune Texas humbuckers
1 tone and 2 volume controls and a coil tap switch

I really love that guitar and it can be described as a cross between a thinline Telecaster and a Les Paul.

It sounds great both clean and distorted. The first track on my web site is recorded with that axe.

Thanks again for asking and listening. :)

That thing is beautiful. I didn't realize 'til I saw it on the manufacturer's site that it was black flame. Gorgeous!

btw - Are you from Italy? I only ask, because it's where I was born. ;)

Italian? That's great. I'm surrounded by Italians at the moment since I am living in that country. :laugh2:

Re: Classic rock solo with JB Strat

Well, actually, I'm not Italian. Its just where I happened to be born.
My ole man was military. ;)

I love how the beat is right in sync with your avatar chick, struttin to the groove!

Cool playing, right up my alley. Another guy who grew up on blues and Van Halen!

Re: Classic rock solo with JB Strat

Dude, how old are you? You take lessons? What's a good way to practice to get chops like that? I liked it.

Re: Classic rock solo with JB Strat

Sweet! That's one HOT-ROCKIN' strat, bro!

Artie's right-I get more kicks from the clips on this forum than anywhere on the radio!

SD Radio anyone!???

hey..I didn't do that strut thing on purpose, but now that you have made me notice it...it's SO COOL! :laugh2:

I did grow up on blues based players...all the greats from the 70's.
EVH came later and was probably an influence as well.
I generally listen to whole load of different guitar players, I am very much of a guitar nut! :32:

I'm old enough to get married in Reno.

I took lessons the first couple of years of learning...on and off...I should have studied more and I should have found a better teacher. Later on, I had a look at some instructional videos and books that gave me some kind of a direction to keep practicing on my own.

Try to find and practice with a method that incorporates finger exercises, ear exercises, and theory that links it all together. And do a lot of listening. Concentrate on the music you like, life is too short to waste it on stuff you don't like.
The more you study and get better, your listening tastes will change anyway.
My chops aren't that great so you should get there in a short while of dedicated study. The more work you put in, the better you will be.
And play, play, play...as much as possible. :smoker:

Oh yeah...Im glad you liked my solo. :)
