Classic Stack Plus question

Hi, yesterday I just installed 2 Classic Stack Pluses in my HSS Strat. I was wondering if it is normal for the notes to sound a little more choked/less sustaining then regular single coil pickups? If it is, is there any way to resolve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps the pickups are to close to the strings so that the magnetic polepieces are attracting the strings and choking them a little.

I hold the strings down at the highest fret and then adjust the neck and middle pickups so the polepieces are about 1/8" away from the underside of the low E string and 1/16" or a little further away from the high E.
