I am fixing to swap out the fender humbuckers in my telecaster deluxe and i need to know one thing. What is the absolute best (in you opinion) humbucker for a clean sounds. Thats all the guitar will be used for. Thanks

Re: clean humbucker

The Jazz humbucker gives some really awesome cleans. A bit on the sterile side, though.

Re: clean humbucker

In the bridge, defenitely a Screamin' Demon those cleans are so amazing! I've never really tried the '59, but I heard the Demon's got better cleans. So it'd be the perfect choice for the bridge IMO. Very sparkly and glassy, with a little bit of midrange warmth.
For the neck the Jazz would fit the bill if you needed a very clean humbucker, with a very articulate response to your playing. Sometimes so articulate some people hate the pick up for it. For a touch of single-coil the DiMarzio Humbucker from Hell would be perfect, very glassy and single-coil-ish, more output than a sc but less noise and less output compared to a humbucker.

Clean? Low output vintage "paf" style pickups: Seth Lover, Antiquity, Jazz and 59.

Probably have to include the PG and AIIPro too.

I just have tried the 59 but it has amazing cleans. Sometimes it is a bit dark in the neck depending on the eq settings...

Re: clean humbucker

depends on what cleans you want.. if you want bluesy cleans, take the '59 if you want glassy cleans, take the PG+, if you want real clean cleans take the jazz

just my $0.02

Re: clean humbucker

IMO, for a clean tone from humbuckers, go for 7.5K or less neck bucker and 8.5K or less bridge bucker. For less bass and more mids go for an a2 bucker. For more bass and more treble but less mids, go for an a5 bucker. Lew
