That's what it does, just boosts the volume. In this case, gain refers to volume boost, not overdrive, the same as a gain knob on a stereo or home theater component - the unit itself introduces no overdrive or distortion. It may overdrive the front end on an amp a bit, but just because it will hit it with more volume. It depends on what kind of amp you run it in front of. I own it, and it's great, try one if you get the chance. The resonance switch works as described too, it's subtle, but does the trick.madaxeman said:Yeah that's great.
