Any best ways to clean castors on a 4x12 cab? Going from the garage to the house. Im guessing for just dirt, paper towels and some cleaner will do the trick. What if you have mung like hair and gum and crud, say after a gig? steel wool?? Mine just need a wipe, but I figure Id open it up for gigging guys where they get rolled into dirty clubs and such.. Thanks!

You can spray them with Windex if water isn't enough. Goo Gone is good for removing gum and other sticky stuff. And a DRY spray lube on the axle is best for squeaky castors.
When you gig a lot, it's best to do semi-annual or quarterly maintenance on your gear...not just your guitar. I wipe down guitar cords and ac cables, checking for wear and potential problems. Retighten rack gear. Clean tolex on amps and cabs. Wipe down stands. Restock spare batteries, fuses, spare picks, strings etc. in my gig bags. Vacuum out the gig bas and guitar cases.
"Be prepared." That motto ain't just for Boy Scouts. Take care of your investments. Act like a pro, even if you're not.

The Internet is a great place to research and share info, but "how to clean castors", I.e. How to clean little wheels, really?
Is it any different than wheels on a rolling toolbox, utility cart, dolly, suitcase, stroller or shopping cart?
Not a dig on the OP, but have people forgotten how to think / figure things out for themselves?

Im pretty handy Bro, and coulda figured it out.. Guess, I prolly didnt need to put up a thread. I just figured maybe others had the same question and this would answer for all.. And just wanted to make sure there werent anything like cleaners that would degrade the wheels too. (petroleum products can break down some rubber types)
Boogie Bill, good info, all! I dont gig yet, but am A.R. about my gear, so am always either sweeping or rolling (with lint roller thingie) out my cases, cleaning my amp and cab. Keep a garbage bag over my pedal board to keep dust and dirt off and many of the things you mentioned. I sweat bad due to my back pain, so I wd 40 my strap locks cuz they rust (dip a q tip in it and swap inside the buttons, etc) Always roll my cables and put ties on them and even polish the tips as Ive heard dirty tips can cause issues.
