Cleaning hardwear

What can I use to clean nickel hardwear? The headwear on my Dean EVO is corroded I guess you could say and it's been like this sice I got it. I just can't stand it any more.

hmmmm... I would say use some sort of metal polish, but if it's rusted then I'm not sure.

if it's rusted try some steel wool...#0000 of course, and a gun polish would probably work if it's not rusted although this is not from experience, just a suggestion....?!

I use GHS polish all over my guitars. It works great and hads no buildup. My drummer uses it on his cymbals too.

It's not rust and I really don't know what you would call it. It's just one the bridge, stop bar and the tuning keys. I've tried Gibson polish and that doesn't work. I was gonna get some of the new Fender heardwear cleaner but neither of my local dealeers have it, one of them doesn't even carry the new Fender Polishes and ect.
