Cleaning pickups?

Can you clean pickups? I got a used Hot Rail and it's kind of dirty (literally dirty, not dusty).

im almost positive u can with alcohol thats wat u clean circuit boards with but dont do it till someone more knowledgable confirms this. and not jaeger :beerchug: alcohol just to clarify like the isoboryl 1

I would avoid using something like alchol....in case it makes the color on the bobbin run. A rag or something with a little spit on it will clean most anything...with a little elbow grease. Maybe a drop or so of windex or something if you need a little kick.

you can use a soft tooth brush also, i've done that on ivaders to get gunk out of the huge poles and from b/t them. just make sure it's real soft so it doesn't scratch it all up. was it used at woodstock or something and it's all covered in mud hehehehe.
