clear coat spray

drew_half_empty

Looking for Real Life
my sister's gonna paint a pickguard for me (with artist-style paint) and she asked me what kind of clear coat she should use

but i have no idea

any suggestions? It'll obviously need to be really, really durable

Re: clear coat spray

I'd try a bunch of thin coats of rustoleum and see how that stands up.

Way back when, one of the social workers at work had me paint a bunch of keys for him (he passed them out to kids as an incentive program). They would always come back chipped up. After I tried clear-coating them, they quit getting chipped.

Re: clear coat spray

I went to the auto part store and got Krylon Acrylic Clear Coat and coated an entire guitar with it. It did the job, seemed durable enough.

Re: clear coat spray

Acrylic-good to know, my ever-ongoing project guitar is getting a pick-guard made of wood.
