Clear pickguard or NO pickguard? That is the question.

This being what my tele build will look like what do my forum mates think? Do you like the clear pickguar or should I just omit it. And yes clear is my only option. I had thought Of black but if I want my wife to like (which would be good since she is letting me build it) those are my only 2 options I am starting to think like her, that maybe it would look better withuout the pickguard. I am thinking of using a ring for the neck pick up as well. Thanks all. Watch yall thank??

No pickguard, just a neck pickup mounting ring. That'll have a really clean look I think. Clear pickguards always look a little cheesy to me.

It's just me, but i prefer no pickguard. also, a white pearloid guard would look hot in that guitar.

I think if you're thinking about clear, you might as well go with no pickguard at all. It'll be a classy looking tele with a pickup ring.

I voted clear just because Fender and Crook put them on fancy-print Teles. It just looks "complete" to me.

I'd go with the clear pickguard...I've never been a fan of the no pickguard look, makes the guitar look naked.

If it's only between clear and none, I'd say clear. Agree with mrturtle, looks naked without.

However, black pearloid would be awsome. The contrast of white perloid would also look awsome.

Is the guitar painted already? If not, maybe have the pickguard painted while on the guitar. I had a 70s antigua strat that had a pickguard like that and I thought it looked good but this would look great. If not, I like it just the way it looks in your pic.

Neither, bro. Tht thing is just begging for white pearl
