I thought his answer was pretty good, but then again, I'm not sure of the big picture. Are we talking about an HSS, with a P-Rails in the bridge? Or an HSH with P-Rails in the neck & bridge? Or something else?

Not sure on neck pickup yet. Will be a single or maybe another Prail.. the P90 vibe is the priority, but want some strat vibe too

I would do StraBro90 neck and middle, P-Rail bridge if I had (what I assume) your goals are. Especially with P-Rails, where each sound is a different volume, the mixed positions might not fare too well

I am realizing the title is probably misleading and sending the results in a direction I did not intend. I am looking for a single that will pair well with the rail coil of a P-Rail in the bridge to create a decent position 2 strat sound and sound good on its own in position 3. A true single I would want RWRP with the rail coil. Still deciding on the neck position. I don't use it a lot. A true single of something like a Duckbucker or Cool rail as an alternative

Any vintage-ish single coil would work- SSL-2, Five Two, etc.
