Coil splitting single-coil-size "rails" humbuckers?

Re: Coil splitting single-coil-size "rails" humbuckers?

Yes. Apparently the sound isn't that desirable among the members of the forum though. They did tell me that the hotrails in parallel though was surprisingly good.

^ Hells yeah! Hot Rails split, Hot Rails parallel, Hot Rails neck & middle with a coil of each in parallel -- ya damn right!

Re: Coil splitting single-coil-size "rails" humbuckers?

What about one coil of a Hotrails neck in series or parallel with one coil of a full size HB in the bridge?

Can you coil split single-coil-size "rails" humbuckers?

I have a split hotrails in my Tele, I love the split tone. It still has the same personality split but the heat and bite is removed a bit.

I havent try the coil split in single sized humbuckers but I can tell you that hot rails in parallel sound really COOL.

Re: Coil splitting single-coil-size "rails" humbuckers?

the HR in split and parallel is fine. I've also had a Cool Rail and I currently have a Lil '59 wired for split. they get a little nicer clean when split than the HR. I've also tried the JB Jr, but it's been a really long time and I can remember if I had them wired for anything other than series. how do they work with another pickup that's in split mode? well, if you've even put one humbucker in split or parallel and mixed it with another in split, you've got a pretty good idea. it all depends on the sound you're going for and what you're using to get there.
