coil swapping questions

Happy Xmas everyone. :)

I had some questions about humbucker coil swapping. I have a Seth Lover that like the sound of uncovered. But it has zebra coils, which I think look yucky. I also have an A2P on hand. I was thinking of maybe swapping coils to make a SL/A2P double black combo, just for fun. But I’ve never done this before.

Is it just as simple as replacing the cream bobbin on the SL with a black one from the A2P and wiring them up? Is there anything I should know before I try this? Also, what can I expect to hear tone wise by doing this SL/A2P combo?

Any information or advice is welcome. Thanks guys!

Yup, solder like colors together, make sure to tape off the leads so they don't ground on anything, and don't overtighten the screws in the baseplate. Also don't break stuff free from the wax potting that doesn't need to be broken free and it makes things a little easier.

Pretty simple, but you do need to be careful with those small wires.
The good thing is, if you like the sound, you've got 2 more coils you can put together for another pup (yeah, I know, you said you don't like the zebra coil look). But you could put "bobbin toppers" on them.
