Coil tap a bridge pickup, same sound as a neck?

Re: Coil tap a bridge pickup, same sound as a neck?

What?

No. In any way, no.

Same as what, the neck in coil cut, or neck in series?

'Coil tap' is something entirely different, and rarely seen.

It doesn't matter whether you are talking about "coil cut" or "split", you are not going to get the same sound as ANY pup in the neck.

Re: Coil tap a bridge pickup, same sound as a neck?

No; tapping a pickup will reduce it's output and make it more trebly. (And coil splitting a humbucker will do the same thing.) However, tapping or splitting a neck pickup will make it sound more like a bridge pickup. Not exactly like one, but more like one.
