Before I take it apart: I have an old miller which was worked on to finish: it has a 500 volume cts volume and a 300 tone pot, I took out the old cap and put in a .33 russian oil cap, which toned it out well...has Pearly Gates and a Jeff Beck in it...great sustain, great tone BUT: there is marginial control over the tone compaired to the rotation of the dial...like maybe all of it is in 20% or less of it being closed...any thoughts to 'expand' that tone? It's wired by SDs two HB to one volume one Tone..diagram. Would putting in a 500 tone pot help? Thank you for any advise...I'm in retirement and picking up the ax again...and learning on both ends...
