combo + 4x12 question

I thought of this after looking at drew's post. can I run a 16 ohm 4x12 cabinet from the ext. speaker jack of my combo? the speaker in there is also 16 ohm and doesn't disable when the ext. jack is plugged in. So that would be 5 12 inch speakers at 16ohms right? The combos is 50 watts tube. What do you think?

well the cab is 16 ohms and the speaker in the amp is 16 ohms, so thats 8 ohms total. the 4x12 would sound amazing and extremely loud through a 50watt tube amp but you gotta check that the amp can run safely at 8 ohms.

it has a switch for 8 ohms, how bout if I switch over to 8?

yeh that would do fine . plug in the cab then switch to 8ohm and enjoy
