Comments On Esp/ltd Guitars??????

Re: Comments On Esp/ltd Guitars??????

I've got 3 ESP LTD's now... I think they sound great, and look good. For the price it is an exceptional value. I have a KH602 with EMG 81's, neck thru maple body, and orig floyd rose. You can't find a guitar with these same features for the same price... and this guitar rocks! I also just recently got a ESP LTD Viper 400. This one also has EMG 81's and imo sunds just as good if not better than the KH602. The mahogany body is warmer and produces a fuller, deeper tone than the maple. Detuned, it sounds freakin evil! ESP has been making some great guitars with exceptional quality and beautiful finishes.

...but don't get one with thier floyd rose licensed trem... My old KH502 has had nothing but problems with the FR licensed trem... and you can't get replacement parts for it...

haha! ^^^ true!

I have an MH 400 and it's so purdy, mahogony body, thru neck, (lots of sustain baby!) emg 81/81 set, (it's actually not too bad in the neck) and a liscences floyd rose, my floyd never gave any hassle.

good guitars

24 fret guitar - waste of money?

What about the Ibanez Jem series? They've got a following so strong and cult-like! Some people swear by the JEM and IMO, Jems are well made and certainly deserve credit.

I don't know much about ESP Ltds, but they seem to be made more for the pedal-to-the-metal market. Not my kind of guitar but hey, I say go for whatever works best for you!

He said that a 24 fret guitar with a neck pickup was a waste of pickup. I think he meant that a 24 fret guitar's neck pickup isn't the best neck pickup sound. I disagree, but to each his own.

Re: Comments On Esp/ltd Guitars??????

I just played the MH - 1000 LTD delux about 30 mins ago in a musicstore..and i was very impressed..It was the first time seeing one up close and before then it was only on the site i had seen it, I didnt think much of it on the site as i didnt find in appealling but after seeing it and playing it i realised that its a very nice guitar, Nice pups too JB/JAzz i believe...Only thing i didnt like was the neck, i didnt like the way the neck was finished and me being used to the oil finish birdseye maple of my US wolfie it didnt feel as nice to me..But what didnt help was i think it was strung with 10 or 11's so that was a tad hard to play as i have small weak hands and im used to 9's :laugh2:

All in all i thought it was quiet a good guitar though..

Re: Comments On Esp/ltd Guitars??????

Oh and i'd add that I didnt like the 24 frets either..Im more of a 22 fret kinda guy..

I agree. Those 24 frets have completely eliminated esp/ltd for me.

This is my ESP M-II Custom Shop- one of the sickest guitars I have ever owned or played. That ESP single coil is actually extremely nice sounding for cleans and that smooth Yngwie-style lead tone. The bridge pickup is a JB. The neck on this bad boy is extremely thin- similar to an Ibanez RG. Great guitar. I also have owned a Lynch Skull and Snakes and it was great. I just couldn't get used to the push/pull pickup selection and hated the Screamin Demon. I regret selling it!!

P.s. I don't know why the pic isn't showing. If someone wants to post it go for it. FIXED I THINK. Thanks Cowboy Dan.

yea, it will scare little kids and some chicks. I bought that guitar on impulse and have NEVER regretted it. When UPS came and I opened that case I nearly f-ing passed out. It looked even cooler than it did on the net!

that reminds me of one time i was at a friends house for band practice and we had to go pick his little brother up from elementry school. my friend was like dude it would be so funny if you went in with your warlock. so i slung it around my back and walked in there up to the office. everyone was looking at me funny and in the hall the kids where either avoiding me or saying "woah you got a awesome guitar!"

I agree, in that for what I play I don't use the extra 2 frets and love the sweet spot placement of the neck pickup. However, there are some shredders out there who don't really use a neck pickup, and actually make use of the full double octave range of 24 frets (12+12 = 24 :) )

ESP/LTD EC-1000 was one of the nicest guitars I've played, and look at the tag it's sporting! It's got a JB/Jazz combo for the cherry sunburst model and an 81 set for the ebony and wine red quilt top models.
