Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

Made in the USA. It's getting harder and harder to say that about anything else I own.

Gibson, Fender, PRS, Martin

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

Almost all of mine have fast strat-style unpainted necks and rather large frets.

Most have H-H config with coil-tapping.

Other than that, mine are very diverse in regards to materials, pickups, construction, etc. And I like it that way. :D

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

I just realized I only play two of my guitars regularly.

#1: "Amira" the 'Super Esquire'
#2: Heavily modified MIM Telecaster

- Both have a maple neck/fretboard
- Both have a telecaster shaped body
- .008-.038 strings in Eb
- Medium-low action
- Twangy low output pickups

Common Features of My Collection...

Hamer or Dean with sprinkling of a few others.

Korina(Limba) or Mahogany under Maple cap bodies same for necks but have a number of Maple necks too, Rosewood might be my favorite but with my skill set I notice very little differance in the fretboard wood and question WTF sometimes about the subject. :cool2: :dunno:

Most of mine have Schaller or Grover tuners but I dig some Klusons on certain styles and with certain woods.

Pointy, Think Vs, Explorer style, but not to wild and yet a good portion are double cut LPish too.

Humbuckers, Duncans for the most part but many flavors too.

Not a big fan of trem based guitars.

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

I have a Strat and a Les Paul. I really can't think of a single thing in common other than they have six strings, and even then the brands and gages on them are different.

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

None. Things I like though don't change:

- 25.5" scale
- single coil pickups
- rosewood/kingwood/ebony fretboard
- 500k pots
- wide (but not 1.75" wide) nut width

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

Since I sold my Epi Explorer, all of my guitars are strat shaped. That is if you don't count the Carvin V-220 that is still technically mine, floating around somewhere in England (maybe).

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

24.75" scale 3/3
22 frets 2/3
Mahagony body and neck 3/3
Rosewood board 2/3
2 volume 1 tone 3/3
Stock pickups 3/3 soon to be Duncans all around
Hardtail bridge 3/3
HH with 3 way selector 3/3
Push pull coil splits 3/3
.11 gauge strings in Eb 3/3

Between an Epiphone Explorer, LTD Eclipse and an LTD Viper.

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

Of the ones I play the most the only common feature is a Brobucker in the bridge :D

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

Only thing in common with my electrics is the Strat shape and maple necks.

Even though two of them have originally been HH, everyone of my guitars has had a single coil at some point.

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

The only thing my gits have in common is diversity.

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

- bolt-on maple necks
- 500k volume pots
- 250k tone pots

that's about it really.

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

Solid wood, no piece-of-sh*t pickups (must be either Seymour or DM). And they generally are strung with Darco 0.11s

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

All are right handed (one has a lefty neck) and most have strap locks.

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

As for the electrics they are mostly Gibson or Gibson-esque solidbodies, rosewood boards, 2 pickups and almost half are going thru major renovations.

As for the acoustics they both have round holes in them

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

6 strings.

Outside of that, everything varies widely.

Common players I have pairs as backups at gigs (Gibsons / Strats).
