Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

-They're all Fenders
-They all end in "-caster"
-They all have maple necks

I'm strictly a Strat/Tele guy.

Humbuckers. All but a few are HH or HSH. They vary widely from low output PAF to blistering hot ceramic models. Coil splitting and series/parallel switching on some. A strat and a tele are the exceptions.

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

Since discovering this forum, I've amassed a surprising number of guitars and pickups.

What they all have in common is that none of them have turned me into Jeff Beck.

I should probably sell a few. ;)

I think some form of light tuners is the common one. It is either grover stamped vintage, Fender bass style and a few with fancier tuners all have aluminium, e.g. Sperzel locking. The only except is Warwick, but those are small. I don't think I have cast iron full-size tuners anywhere.

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

All 9 of mine are single cut melody makers.
Of them, 5 are wraparound bridges, 4 have tuneomatics and stop bars, 5 have pickguard mounted electronics and all 9 have their stock white button Kluson style tuners. All 9 have aluminum bridge or tailpiece studs.

4 - '03 MMLPs w/ P-90s (2 ebony, 1 cherry, 1 TV yellow)
3 - '07 MMLPs w/ single coils (ebony, burst, worn white)
2 - '11 MMLPs w/ humbucker (ebony and blue)

The body style/shape/size is perfect for me.

I've got a black 2011 fitted with a hot P-rail and a triple shot, so it gets basically the sound of the 2003, 2007 and 2011 all in one plus a parallel humbucker sound. It's great for band practice and beer time jams. Before I did that mod, I'd lug around one of each to a practice-- 3 guitars!!

The rest have stock electronics.
All have either aluminum wraparound bridges, aluminum tailpiece studs and aluminum stopbars. Tuneomatic versions got nonwired abr-1 bridges.

Simple guitars. Bare bones rockers.

Good enough for me.

Re: Common Features of Your Guitar Collection?

Lots of Floyd Rose bridges, "strat" style bodies, humbuckers and a fair amount of mahogany. Three Jackson's (2 MIA), one LP, one Firebird, three acoustics (1 true acoustic), two strats (1 Squier, 1 MIA), two built under my own brand and one mongrel built from an old First Act my late father in law pulled from a neighbor's trash pile.

Almost everything is modified beyond their original form, in some fashion, either by myself or the factory.
