Compatible p-90 with Neck Pup in Telecaster

Hey, new to posting in guitar forums, usually somebody has run into the same problem as me. Does anyone know about any p90 pickups that would be RW/RP relative to a TV Jones Starwood single coil neck pickup for tele? Or at least one that’s reverse wound (I can flip the magnets if need be)? Goal is to wire the two in series on fourth position of my tele, but the p90 I currently have is not RW/RP, and there’s a LOT of 60-cycle hum.

Edit: I believe the TV Jones has the same wind and polarity as most typical telecaster neck pickups

Cant help with your actual question, but you can reverse the orientation of the magnet and the direction of the wind. Flipping the magnet and swapping hot and ground will make a pickup RWRP of what it originally was

welcome to the forum!

i dont know what the wind or polarity of the tv jones pup. can you move the ground wire on the pup? p90s usually have the braided shield wire so youd had to open it up to flip polarity, but moving the cover ground on a tele neck pup can be done, just go slow and careful. ive done it many times.

I gave that a try, but I still had the same amount of hum. It’s entirely possible I missed something or did something wrong, though. I’ll keep at it, thanks for replying!

Thanks! On this p90, there is a separate hot and a ground. I’m not totally sure about the wind or polarity on the TV Jones either though. I might just have to keep tinkering with it and see what I can do. Thanks for replying.
