Complete nOOb amp Q (Not trolling, honest!)

Ok listen to THIS

or really anything by these guys, like THIS

What do I gotta get, to sound like these? I FINALLY have a decent sounding humbucker guitar, and I realize my amp sounds like ass (but hey, it's a nearly 20-year-old Peavey practice amp, so I shouldn't be suprised)
Do I HAVE to go buy a Marshall the size of a fridge and turn it up enough so my kids go deaf, my wife sets me on fire and the cops show up (which would be awesome, for a short time anyway) or is there some other way to get this huge, fat sound? I realize I know SQUAT about amps and don't want to spend another 20 years, and buying 4 dozen things before I get something I like. At least I should get some idea of what I need to budget for, at least...
I know this is stupid subjective and there's probably 20 "right" answers to this (or none) but if you guys on here taught me everything I needed to know about pickups, you-all should be able to school me on amps.

Definately a marshall sound I'd say at least in that ballpark... On a budget a marshall sounding pedal and a clean amp will be ok. If you cant play loud modelling amp is the way to go and if you play stadiums sure get a full stack but even then you don't NEED one. Do you just play by yourself or in a band?

From what I was able to search in various thread archives of other forums (yes, they do exist), the Hellacopters used mostly Marshall and Orange amps, and some pedals.

An Orange Crush combo amp (single 12") goes for about $500, maybe that's a start.

Thought I heard I Fender in there and I was correct. I would suggest a Deluxe with a good OD pedal or a Twin if you really want to blow the doors off.

I think you already know the answer to that one.

But seeing as that is probably not likely given the pyromaniac tendencies in you spouse, you could probably get close enough using one of those small high gain marshalls like the dsl401. They are pretty cheap second hand too. Good grinding dirty sound.

Re: Complete nOOb amp Q (Not trolling, honest!)

A DSL40c would get you that sound, and it's appropriate for home use.

Also, check out Musician's Friend. Right now, they're blowing out Bugera amps so cheap you won't even believe it.

OK I will check these out too.

Thank you for the reccomendations, guys

I can get pretty damn close to that sound with my blackstar HT-5. You don't have to have a huge amp to get close to that tone. Maybe even a 1 watt Marshall http://youtu.be/gvPYgHJO1bg

Blackstar HT5 or ht20, Fender Super Champ is a good tube/modeling hybrid, Marshall DSL5 or DSL15. I know there were others I looked up earlier today, but can't Remer now after a few drinks

I listened to a couple demos on U-tube and I liked what I heard. Are these cheap for a reason, or is it just sale time? I don't think I've even heard of this brand before.

Where? I see the same prices on Bugera everywhere. I had to go check, because I just bought a V22 infinium and 1x12 cab from Sweetwater the night before last.
