Complete Wah

I was thinking about my pedalboard and I realized it would be cool to have autowah along with my wah pedal on there. I don't have space on there for another pedal though (got it all planned out), and then it hit me: why the hell have I never seen a wah pedal with autowah built in to it as a secondary feature??? With all the boutique pedals out there with 8000 fuctions each that most people would never even really mess around with, why is this not an option?

Re: Complete Wah

The Boss AW-3 has numerous envelope filter, vowel sounds, and timed/"modulation" wah effects. In addition, it has an expression pedal jack for rocker wah control.

Re: Complete Wah

Could it compete with a higher end wah like a Teese or a Fulltone? I'm looking for a wah that's at least as good as the budwah I used to play.

Re: Complete Wah

I would say no to that, Teese and Fulltone are levels higher than the boss. Of the two mentioned you will have better success with the Teese, more options more models, better sounding. If your looking for a versital wah check out the MSD Silver Machine Automatic wah I recently got one of these and it rocks it can sound like a Vibe effect, a phaser effect, and of course a badass wah from a very mild sound to the most vocal sounding wah, but it comes with a price.

Re: Complete Wah

I've never heard any complaints about the build quality of Boss pedals, and the sound quality would be a matter of taste. But if you don't like the sound of the Boss AW-3, the Gig-FX Mega Wah has exactly what you are asking about.

Re: Complete Wah

Gig-FX eh? I've heard lots of good stuff about them. Adam jones is using the Gig-FX chopper on stage and on the latest album, lotsta crazy sounds coming from that. I'll look their wah up right now.
