Completed first ever wiring, want more! Suggestions? (Tele)

(Very) Long story short -I'm brand new to all this and l just discovered that the reason I detested my middle position (3wayB) sound with the SD Vin/59 stack, pups were given to me and I paid someone to install them, was because it was out-of-phase. Started out, even possessing only the technical prowis of a mango as I do, to correct it and found this
View attachment 91683 Learned that this is the S1 switching system and was rather intimidated. I opted just to by-pass it and removed all the wires from it except the ground. I proceeded to follow the diagram labeled (Tele/2 stacks/1 Vol/1 Tone) and to my suprise succeded in doing so. The out-of-phase sound is gone and I am much happier about the over-all sound I have now. Tele_2TSTK_3B_1V_1T.jpg I want to wire them in series to get the hotter, beefier tone I keep reading about, but for all I know this is in series -I suspect not. Also I have an S1 switch now that does noting, ironically the same as before. I realize that had it been wired correctly before it would have turned the phasing on and off, but it did not. Im trying to educate myself on this wonderful world of tone tweaking, but for now any attempts to branch out will have to be accompanied by a diagram. I just wonder if anyone could suggest a next move regarding the series option? Lastly these pickups are not great for my style really, some blusey clean tones are falling out of it that I like. I play Trey Anastiaso riffs and improvise with jazz backing tracks, as well as dig Garcia and Gilmour, but I digress. Im considering replacing these with a full 59 neck and a quater pounder SC -if I can install it to work with a 500K vol and a 250K tone with in-line transistor -at least for now thats what I think I want in the near future. I forgot to mention that tho it is no longer written on them that I could see I think I have 250K pots currently with one of them being attatched to S1 of course and the cap on the tone pot is 0.022 uF

i am not completly clear on your pickups. A vintage Tele stack on the neck and a Lil 59 tele on the bridge? If both of the them are 4 con it will be possible.
You could probably use the S1, i use a 4 way Tele switch. The problem is to connect in the series mod two signals in phase, but much better - because humless - is to connect them reverse wound and reverse poled. And this is tricky with your pickups.
So my advise is to wire it strait from the schematic (s1 schematics from Fender) and reverse leads until it works or -again- hire a pro.
One caveat: series links makes it stronger, but also a lot darker. It works best with very low wound pickups with a rwrp neck (neck cover with a own connection to ground).

Hi
Thanks for the advice. Yes, Vin stk neck and lil 59 single coil sized hb in the bridge. Both have four con lead wires. I will look into restoring the S1 original wiring, but if it just gives me phase reversing capabilities and or coil splitting -from what I understand as of now im interested in neither. The neck pup (tele-set is what im dealing with) does have a cover and its own connection to ground; however I dont know about the RWRP status of the thing. I certainly wont be hiring anyone -never learn to DIY that way. Its good to know about the series link making the sound darker. I should get a 4 way blade it sounds like, so I can keep parallel also I believe.
