Compressed riffage

The main new thing I was trying for was that "over-compressed" sound in post that come with certain engineers.
Sort of...purposely doing that breathing effect that, by the book, you wanna avoid...

Anyway, first heard it loud and clear on some In Flames (ex. My Sweet Shadow)

If this becomes a song later, I'll re-record the fiddles etc.
And of course do some layering =D

But let me know if what you think, and if the compression is just too headachy. LoL

In my opinion it's just freakin' awesome!! The only thing that I would change is that part between the powerchords, when you do like a "mini solo" (sorry, I can't put in word in english). I think sometimes it's too fast.

I'd love to see what kind of vocals would you put in. In my opinion it could be a lot of styles, from the new melodical thing to the agressive vocals.

Thanks so much man! Yeah that riff is real sloppy each time- I will have to come up with something...

So I did however update it with some other changes and feel it was an improvement so far.

hey that worked, and I like what I'm hearing! very in flamesy, yes. I was thinking it was going to really pump like when I grab the wrong preset for a mix and it sounds like a warped analog cassette tape.

arrrrgh!! I tried on my work and laptop computers too. let me know your secret! it is the only dropbox mp3 I have ever had issue with. I listen to tons of clips at the andy sneap forum...

What browser are you using? I've never had a problem and I'm using Firefox. Always opens it up in another tab in an embedded Quicktime player.

Maybe try downloading the Quicktime plug-in for whatever browser you're using?

It's ready to be pressed (I can send you the most recent files) but I've had to just sit on them. =[
I injured my foot pretty good and haven't been to work in a month.
I have short-term disability, but have to wait for the dinero; so I've just put high-dollar expenditure on hold for now =/
Starting therapy today, so I'm healing. So no worries there.
I can def hook up the tracks here though =D
