Confused about Strat SSL-1 and Tx Blues pickups

The SSL-1 is a vintage correct Strat pickup, and its at 6.4 K.
Now, the Texas special is supposed to be 'overwound', yet its resistance readings are about equivalent;
Neck Pickup: 6.2K. Middle: 6.5K. Bridge: 6.5-7.1K.
;magnets are the same- A2. Does it then have something to do with the wire?
Is it because all 60's pickups are considered "overwound" compared to 50's pickups?

I don't know but Jerry this spell check thing is killing me... spell check doesn't recognize "strat" so it changes it to "start." Every time you want to say strat it says start.

EDIT: Not trying to be a dick, I love ya man, but spell check isn't always right...

First, the SSL-1 is Alnico 5.

One thing I find fascinating about vintage spec single coils is how you could take 5 sets with the same ohms readings and magnets, and all 5 would sound slightly different. There must be a lot more to it than overwinding.

I'm not a big fan of A2 strat pickups because I like a clear bell-like bottom and snappy top end.

Quoth many retail descriptions of the SSL-1:
Seymour Duncan SSL-1 "Vintage Staggered" pickup for Strat®. This model is an exact replica of the original, and Seymour Duncan's best selling single coil pickup for Stratocaster®. The hand-ground "Dun-Aged" Alnico 5 magnets and moderate Formvar® wire windings yield a bright and punchy tone with vintage output. Perfect for players who need accurate traditional single-coil tone, especially with clean and mildly distorted amp settings. Comes with waxed cloth hookup cable and vintage-style “keyed” bottom plate. Includes wiring diagram and Made in the USA.

So, in order to do a vintage repro sound (original specs be damned), they wound em a little more and aged the mags to get a nice balance, I guess.
