To quote the review in the new May issue - "Don't devalue your amp with mods: just get an AC-Tone and enjoy a whole new palette of sounds."

A nice review, Niels. Congratulations!

Re: Congrats to Rid! AC-Tone gets Guitar World Platinum Award

Like i always say, the AC-Tone is better than the amp it simulates !

Good One Guys . . .

. . . congrats !

Re: Congrats to Rid! AC-Tone gets Guitar World Platinum Award

Good for you guys! I still need to test run that pedal at the local store, The Amp Shop (Splash Sound). That's our local CM dealer.

Take that GP!!! LOL

Re: Congrats to Rid! AC-Tone gets Guitar World Platinum Award

Congrats Niels. Now, about that Echotone........

Re: Congrats to Rid! AC-Tone gets Guitar World Platinum Award

Well Stevie...it is finished:D
Thomas rooted out all the bugs......I have the thing running for a straight week now....no flips or flubs...just working away like nothing is bothering it.

Re: Congrats to Rid! AC-Tone gets Guitar World Platinum Award

Hey that's amazing Niels! And i am amazed about the Echotone!Tell me more about it!

Re: Congrats to Rid! AC-Tone gets Guitar World Platinum Award

It delays stuff;)
Switchable between tempotap and manual time, a loop in the feedback for external modulation, about 1.5 secs of delays, longest on the manual side.
Trails on off switch, hybrid delay with all analouge signal path and the feedback is the only digital in that thing, two chips to generate delay, more bandwidth for a more fat clear sound, toneknob to adjust the feedbacks sound, can go from very open natural to more warm and subdued.
Needless to say that I think Thomas outdid himself with that one....and I have had a delay or two in my time!

Now I want one even more !
Rid, do you not think this pedal deserves it or are you thinking there is one more deserving? The PT perhaps? Did that one not get this kind of review, because it most certainly should have?

Re: Congrats to Rid! AC-Tone gets Guitar World Platinum Award

Nah it is just not a pedal with a sound I use much myself, allthough on certain amps I really like it, it was a pedal that made on demand, the boss wanted a Vox like drive...well he got one;)
Hoss has the version I like myself, one normal channel like the one in production and a hotter one on the second channel, gives a sound I really like.
These days Thomas and me have moved in another direction, enough with the ampcloning drives, the Quattro has one of those new style drives, it suits almost all kinds of amps, the next one is called DC-Drive and will be a 9v with
internal powerup stuff for more headroom than normal 9v'ers got, it will have a switchable bottom filter, and a clean boost like the HDB's, and the new style drive, that elusive clearness and sustain without too much gain, allthough it can get pretty driven, it can get into PT territory gainwise, which is not anything really wild, just fat.
Also has one in the works with a variable mids thing and a toneknob, it is a DC-Drive with some variations, that one is really going to be fun.
Some cascading stuff may also hit the line in the future...but that one will be different from anything else we make.
And thanks guys!
Niels

Uff that ACtone sounds killer Niels.

That Echotone might be good addition for my board huh? Sound like a cool little machine, and now that I have gotten a job I can afford it :)

Re: Congrats to Rid! AC-Tone gets Guitar World Platinum Award

Sounds like some really killer dirt and delay boxes will be on the shelves soon.
