connecting a keyboard to a mac?

Okely dokely. I want to connect my cheapo yamaha starter keyboard to my mac such that if I play notes on the keyboard, midi notes will be recorded in logic such that I can go back and cycle through virtual instruments to sound off the notes. Why, you ask? Because I have a feeling the virtual instruments probably sound better than what's available on my keyboard.

I guess I could program in the midi notes, but that doesn't sound too appealing.

What connector(s) do I need?

As long as your Yamaha has MIDI out, all you need is a soundcard with MIDI in. M-Audio's Fast Track Pro would work for you, if you're serious about recording audio:

Logic should just see it, but if not, check your preferences in Applications>Utilities>Audio MIDI Setup and add the device you need.
