Consensus was: I needed Little '59, not Lil' Screamin Demon for Strat neck

This has moved slowly and I have both pups, ready to "drop" in one or the other. Has anybody even tried Li'l Screamin' Demon? Especially in neck? Is it merely a cleverly-named, not-that-great pickup?

I gotta swap in one or the other, and I'd like to know what is so wonderful about Little '59 (or hear info about the Demon), just so I feel comfortable with the decision.

Thanks, blokes.

I have a L'l Screamin demon in the middle of my Steinberger. It's not inpressive. The Lil 59 sounds a lot like the full size 59. It's a great neck pickup with the Hot Rails or the Jb jr. It's even cool with a full sized JB. The idea is a classic Gibson PAF humbucker sound in Strat pickup.

Thanks much for that validation, BRHGM. It shows that the advice was right and so I'm moving on a reasonable plan here. I did not have a rationale till now, just the raw advice, and you cleared that up. Much appreciated.

I have a Lil 59 in the neck position of one of my guitars. It still has a little of that stinging ceramic magnet characteristic I like, but it also sounds great when certain Clapton, Santana, and Johnson tones are desired. It's surprisingly good at making a Strat sound like a Gibson.
