Construction Question

As some of you may or may not know, I'm building a ukulele right now in my free time, and I've approached the time to hammer in the frets. I don't have a fret hammer, and I'm wondering:
A: Can you use just a normal hammer, or does it have to be a fret hammer? I don't plan on going into mass production here.
B: Are there any tips out there for the normal hobbyist for seating the frets?
C: Any tips on general construction of instruments?

Re: Construction Question

a: If you use a normal hammer youll have huge dents in the frets that will require you to file down half the fret to get it smooth again.

b + c: www.projectguitar.com, as I´ve said before fretwork is not something you can teach somebody online in a forum environment and I´m not to keen on writing a 20 page pictorial thread about it, either....

You can´t explain something that needs 50 thousand words worth of pictures in 5000 characters or less ;)

The only general tip I can really leave you with here is: Do it right the first time or don´t do it at all. Everything else is a waste of time and money.
