Does anyone know, of a company that makes Stratocaster control plates that are that standard silver? The only ones i can find are Jazz bass and Tele plates, so anyone know where i can find a Strat one, and a place where i can buy one online?

Thanks-
Alex

Re: Control Plate for Strat?

Well here's my plan, buy a jazz bass control plate, thrown away my pick-guard and direct mount a single humbucker onto the body. use the control plat for volume and tone knob and a coil tap switch.
Hell yeah, rock On :13:

Re: Control Plate for Strat?

your question is a bit confusing to me but i think i know what you mean...ok by control plate...do you mean pickguard (where the knobs and pickups get mounted) and by silver do you mean chrome to match the other hardware on the guitar like the bridge and tuners etc? if so then Fender makes one...they are a bit $$ though and kinda hard to come by in local shops. your best bet is ebay and here is one....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38082&item=3781757950&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

it's a bad pic in the auction but it's chrome it will match a chrome bridge and tuners perfectly.

i hope that's what you ment...if not i have no clue what you mean since i have neve seen a strat with a control plate similar to a jazz bass or tele...only ones with a pickguard or nothing at all.

Re: Control Plate for Strat?

I think the problem is, you're asking about something that doesn't exist. There's no such thing as a "Stratocaster" control plate. You could try making your own, or adapting one of those that already exists, but you need to be careful about whats under your pickguard. There may not be sufficient area to support mounting screws for a certain shape.

ya, i figured that there wasnt one, but wasnt sure. and your probabalbababalyyy right about the screws and space and all that. oh well, doesnt hurt to ask, does it? :D
