Checked Squeebay or Treeverb yet? I've seen both listed, and usually ID'd as coming from one place or the other.

Yeah I've been checking those but with no luck. All they seem to have are the USA ones that I am not interested in

Re: Conventional hum bucket most like L500XL

I have ordered a couple times in the past year. The first time I called the phone number and spoke to Becky. The second time I sent an email to someone listed as a customer service person. "Susan," maybe? Both ways worked fine. You cannot order them straight off the website, it is pretty much a mess.

Ironically, I switched to them because I love the blade look! The Carvin M22SD really does sound quite similar, but in my guitar into my amp it did not give very good sustain.

FYI, shipping is $8 for one pickup or up to four pickups. I bought two the last time just for that reason.

Carvin m22sd is another that kind-of fits the same bill,,,,,and it's a cheaper option.
To more closely mimic a blade-tone raise all the poles about .5mm as a starting point, then set the height overall based off the outside strings, and then lastly adjust the centers-poles to balance with the outers. (not utters, it's very hard to balance utters lol)

Pegasus, also billed as a tight and clear a5-pup, is probably a great suggestion, and with today's boosters and gain-soaked amps the slightly less output might not matter to most.

I have never played or heard the Pegasus, but I came into this thread just to say the M22SD is in the same general ballpark as the L500XL.

I called the phone number today and couldn’t get through. There was no answer. I sent an email to the shannoncantrel@gmail address listed on their website inquiring about ordering and haven’t heard back.... maybe they are closed for the holidays?.... or I hope not impacted by the wild fires. I’ll keep trying. Anyone on here looking to sell one?

I had not thought of the wildfire. That is possible.
Try the phone number again on Monday at different times. They aren't really a company per se, it's just Becky and her daughter. If you happen to catch them, you are good.

I've never played an L500XL, but I do have experience with the M22SD and Pegasus, and they're not too many worlds apart. M22SD is higher output, saturates more, and has a thicker low end; Pegasus gives more note separation and is more articulate.

Worth noting for the OP that if you want to try an M22SD and want to buy new, you need to be somewhat quick, since Kiesel has announced that they're discontinuing it (sad news IMO, I love the one in my Ultra-V).
