Convert 2-8ohm to 1-16ohm

Hello,

A few years ago I built my 4x10 speaker (the one in my sig), it is a stereo cabinet.

Each side is 8 ohms.. This is great for when I am using my stereo power amp with stereo fx and all, but I've been thinking lately...

I've heard sometimes amps sound better when you use higher impedence cabs.

So, I was thinking of running each side in series so I can get a single 16 ohm cabinet when I use my marshall.

I know this is possible with each side being 8 ohms, but I dont want to re-wire the insides since I will still occasionally use it with my stereo power amp.

It's been such a long time since I've tinkered with electronics that I cannot for the life of me think of how I would design the cable for it....I remember thinking of it a long time ago, but my mind has gone blank.

Can someone help?

Thanks

You would want to wire both sides in series.

Like - amp hot output into hot of one side, ground of that side into hot of other side, ground of other side back to ground of amp.
